Shabbat Shalom! Today, we stand on the right side of history. Sunday, June 22, 2025, will go down in the history books: the day the United States of America and Israel successfully dismantled Iran’s nuclear capabilities. This monstrous terrorist regime and its proxies are now a defeated foe. The world has become a significantly safer place. I write this from a bomb shelter in Jerusalem, Israel. On January 1, 2025, we moved here with one clear purpose: to stand with Israel and let her people know—they are not alone. History bears witness: The Pharaohs tried to destroy the Jews 3,000 years ago—and failed. The Babylonians tried 2,500 years ago—and failed. The Romans tried 2,000 years ago—and failed. The Nazis tried 80 years ago—and failed. The Arab nations have waged six wars against Israel—and failed every time. Though small in number, the Jewish people possess the courage of nobles, the wisdom of prophets, the patience of the righteous, and the resilience of survivors. They are the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—of David, Solomon, Moses, and over 1,500 prophets and emissaries from their lineage. The Jewish people have a great love and thirst for life and peace. They honor and greatly value each and every life that was lived and died. In just 12 days of Operation Rising Lion triumphed. Israel and the United States stood united to eliminate Iran’s existential nuclear threat. A ceasefire was declared last Tuesday and took full effect the following day. Schools reopened, offices resumed, and—for a brief moment—we all breathed a sigh of relief, especially here in Jerusalem. Tragically, that peace was quickly shattered. Seven young Israeli soldiers were burned to death in a devastating explosion in Gaza. The battle continues across multiple fronts—Gaza, Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria. Within Israel’s own government, Prime Minister Netanyahu faces fierce opposition from within—often referred to as the deep state. Yet amid political turmoil, he has issued a clear call to the global Church and believers everywhere to pray.Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for the safety of Israel. And God’s hand of protection in these perilous times.
